Solveig (Neseth) Kassar is a coloratura soprano hailing from Stillwater, Minnesota. She received her Master of Music in Opera Performance in 2019 from Oklahoma City University, where she also graduated summa cum laude with her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance in 2017.
She has performed the roles of Yvette in La Rondine, La Fée in Cendrillon, and Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor. Solveig also has extensive experience in contemporary opera, performing in regional premieres of Michael Daugherty's Jackie O and Nico Muhly's Dark Sisters as Liz Taylor and Lucinda, respectively, as well as performing the lead role of Rosa Carini in the world premiere of Thomas Pasitieri's The Vaudevillian.
As a soprano soloist, Solveig has performed in such concert works as Carl Orff's Carmina Burana, Thomas Dubois' Seven Last Words, Gabriel Fauré's Requiem, and George Frideric Handel’s Messiah. In 2019 she competed at the National Student Auditions for NATS, where she won first place among collegiate women. She is also a member of the Phi Kappa Lambda Honors Society.
Most recently, she was seen performing the title role in Lucia di Lammermoor with Painted Sky Opera in Oklahoma City, as Despina in Salt Creek Chamber Orchestra’s production of Così fan tutte in Chicago, and as Clorinda in HGO’s production of La Cenerentola in north London. Solveig moved to London last August, where she now resides with her husband.
